Memphis, TN CHAPTER
The Memphis Chapter of the AMS/NWA is pleased to have awarded our 2015-2016 scholarship to Mr. Nick Morgan, a senior pursuing a B.S. in Meteorology from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Nick attended Henry County High School and MTSU before transferring to UT-Martin in 2013. He is currently the President of the AMS chapter at UT-Martin and hopes to one day become a severe weather researcher, particularly in the area of nocturnal convection and tornadogenesis, which is a major issue in the southeast U.S. After graduation in 2016, Nick plansto attend graduate school to prepare him even further for a career in severe weather research.

Scholarship eligibility guidelines include that the applicant must reside in the area served by the Memphis Chapter (roughly a 100-mile radius around the city of Memphis), should be pursuing post-secondary education towards a degree in meteorology and/or atmospheric sciences in the 2016-2017 school year, and will be taking multiple classes towards that degree during that academic year. Check back in Spring 2016 for the application!
