2013-2014 AMS/NWA-Memphis Scholarship Recipient

William ChurchillThe Memphis Chapter of the AMS/NWA is pleased to have awarded our 2013-2014 scholarship to Mr. William Churchill, a senior pursuing a B.S. in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University in Starkville. Originally from southern California, William now resides in Arlington, TN.  At Mississippi State, William has been a member of the Famous Maroon marching band and the East MS Chapter of the AMS/NWA. William has worked as a student volunteer at the NWS office in Memphis and social media intern/nowcaster at MemphisWeather.net.

William's interest in meteorology was initially sparked by a flash flood event at his home in southern California, but experiencing his first southeastern U.S. severe thunderstorms after moving to the Memphis area solidified his passion for weather, which has translated into educational and career pursuits in the field.  William comes with exceptional references.  Congratulations William - our 2013-2014 AMS/NWA-Memphis Scholarship recipient!
